Club Award

Cricket NSW advised us last week that we have been selected by the Sydney Sixers Metro Community Cricket team for Community Cricket Club of the Year for the annual A Sport For All Awards held by Cricket Australia. They commented that:

“WPHCCC has been a great example of bringing people of the community together. The Club has proven that hard work and great volunteers can achieve fantastic outcomes for the cricketing community! The Club encompasses a number of attributes that we believe contribute to what is a great cricket Club.”

Next steps involve us being considered for Club of the Year against the nomination from the Sydney Thunder Metro Team and a Team from Regional NSW. The winner is then invited to the Cricket Australia Awards for Club of the Year in May.

Irrespective of the next stage results this is a great acknowledgement to everyone involved in our Club.

Survey Monkey

Keep a lookout for our Annual survey using Survey Monkey. This is a whole Club Survey that gives us an opportunity to get your feedback and either build on what we are doing well or make changes where things need improving. Keep a lookout and your support by spending 2 minutes answering the survey would be great.

Pink Stumps / McGrath Foundation

Pink Stumps Day

Pink Stumps Day was held on Saturday at Campbell Park. It was run by Joseph Cooray and our U9s and was another great success with our 6 x U9s playing a series of double headers. Since 2011/12, we have raised over $40,000.

It’s not too late to contribute and you can do this directly via our Fundraising page: here

Invitation Cricket game

In recognition of our of our great support of the McGrath Foundation since 2011/12 in raising over $40,000 the McGrath Foundation has invited us to play in the prestigious annual game against Army at the historic Victoria Barracks Oval – the site of the very first game of cricket played in NSW way back in 1854.

The game will be played on Saturday 30 March 2019.

This is a significant event. Apart from being an important fixture in the Army Cricket Club schedule, there is also a VIP Cocktail session after the game.
