Cricket NSW Opportunity

CNSW is running two Gala Days at Cherrybrook PS on the 25th and 27th November on the School Grounds. There is a great opportunity for anyone from Year 10, 11 and 12 to come along and umpire a field for a day.

It is an opportunity to use this as an opportunity for formal work experience. It would be unpaid work but a good chance for them to network with Cricket NSW and get some coaching experience. Participants would need them to be available from 8:45am to 2:30pm and they would need to umpire 4 games.

If you are keen to give this a go then contact either Steve Burrows (here ) or Grant & Suzanna Colburt (here )

Northern District Festival of Cricket

Keep Sunday 10th November free as the Northern District Grade Club is having their 1st Grade T20 double header games at Mark Taylor Oval. This is where the big boys play with many BBL players on show with lots of sixers and action. Apart from having the best cricketers in Sydney on show Mark Taylor and Nathan Lyon, both ND’s players, will be around for most of the game. More info will follow.

New Constitution

One to look out for is a Special General Meeting to consider a new Constitution to replace the Model Form we have had since the early 1980s.

Since our Cub became an incorporated body all those years ago, we adopted the Model Constitution under the Act which with our growth/development since has now become somewhat irrelevant to our needs.

A revised, updated document has now been prepared and has been approved by the Executive Committee. For this to be adopted, the law requires it to be presented and approved at a special general meeting of members for which they have been given 21 day’s notice.

All members, who attend the meeting, may vote provided they are financial and over 18 years of age. The formal notice, showing venue, time, date and attaching the new constitution document, will be sent to you in the coming weeks.

Please understand that the only business allowed at that meeting will be a motion to adopt the new constitution as submitted.

More information will follow on this so stay tuned.
