New Website

Historical stats

MyCricket has all player stats since 2008/09. If you want to see your complete historical stats then just log-in on the Home page using the sign-in created at Registration. If you registered online, and have forgotten a password then just reset your password. DO NOT CREATE A NEW USER/LOG-IN as it will not link to their MyCricket Id, which is critical in making the stats work – & to save us having duplicate player entries.

For all users (Juniors, Girls, Kanga’s) by logging you they can also see other functions, like their order/payment history, change your address & user details so that we have accurate contact details. This log-in will be used year after year for registrations.

System support

If anyone has a working knowledge of WordPress and an interest in website development it would be great to have you involved to initially tinker with the site and going forward to be involved with ongoing developments.

Association School Holiday clinics

Registrations are now open for the Association Coaches’ Association cricket coaching clinics for boys & girls aged 6 – 15.

These clinics are run by Association Life Member Bruce Wood and are highly recommended. The Coaches’ Association is a not-for-profit organisation and has scheduled 4 junior clinics between 9 and 19 January 2017. Numbers are capped to keep the Coach / Participant ratio low so registrations close once the cap is reached.

The children get quality coaching in a fun environment and it also gets the kids out of the house and running around – the perfect combination.

The venues are: Mark Taylor Oval, Waitara (2 clinics); George Thornton Reserve, WPH; and Curtis Oval, Dundas Park.

The online registration process is easy and can be accessed here.

Round highlights

The Junior Boys are in recess and start up again on Saturday 28 January 2017. Our U14s and U15s are though playing in their Country Carnivals – details are:

Country Carnivals

The U15s travelled to Armidale to play in the Walter Taylor Shield Carnival this week. Next week the U14s travel to Tamworth. We are fortunate to be the only Club side to be invited to these Regional Representative Carnivals.

Walter Taylor Shield (U15)

The boys did really well against Competition that has the following Teams – Camden, Ballina, Manly, Penrith, Armidale, Hunter Valley, Lismore DCA and Tamworth. We finished at = 5th in the T20’s and =4th in the 50 over aside games out of 9 Teams – a great performance.

Game 1 – loss

We went down to the strong Penrith Rep side 234 to 118 but with Tom Dickinson taking 5/36 and with Riley Paton (27*) and Dylan Bish (21) providing resistance.

Game 2 – win

Against the home team Armidale at TAS Oval saw us as big winners 5/190 Vs 128. Batting first, Dylan Bish dominated with 63*, Zac Morris 40 for the boys to put on 82 for the 5th wicket. Connor Hindmarsh also scored an important 26. Our best bowler was Andrew Vink with 3/11 off 7 overs.

Game 3 – win

Playing the Lismore DCA side the boys had another win in a T20 game. After keeping Lismore to 60 we cruised past the score to finish at 4/61 in 15 overs. Tom Dickinson took the honours with 23*.

Game 4 – loss

In our second T20 for the day the boys went down to Tamworth DCA with our 50 in 20 overs being run down in just 10 overs for the loss of 2 wickets. John Kurian was our best batter with 18*.

Game 5 – loss

Our last game was a 40-over a side against Tamworth and the Country boys got away to 8/215 with Dylan Bish our most successful bowler with 3/22. Not our best day with the bat being rolled for 76 in 30 overs.

Tamworth JCU Carnival (U14s)

The boys are playing against Competition that has the following Teams – Manly, Tamworth Blues, Nambucca/Bellingen, Hawkesbury DCA, Peel River Renegades, Lismore, Armidale.

Game 1 – win

A great win against Armidale. We batted first on the Riverside 5 turf ground and scored an imposing 8/213 in 50 overs. Jude Boyle (41*), Aidan Jackson (40) and Oliver Linschoten with 27 top scored. In a thriller that went down to the last over Armidale finished with 7/205. Wickets were spread with Oliver being the best with 2/25 off 5.

Game 2 – win

Another great win, this time against the Peel River Renegades. Bowling first we kept Peel River to 7/144 off their 50 overs at Riverside 1 turf Oval. Aidan Jackson took 3/15 and Joseph Calusic 2/15 with the remaining wickets spread. In the batting we finished at 5/146 in 45 overs with Luc White 57* and Alistair Fullerton 50* putting on 94 for the 2nd wicket to get us across the line. The following link to the Northern Daily Leader is a good read – here

Game 3 – win

Three from 3 and the only undefeated Team in the Competition. Bowling first we restricted Lismore to 140 in 46 overs. Kieran Jackson had the amazing figures of 3/3 off 7 overs with the remaining wickets spread. Our turn to bat and we got there in 46 overs and 6 wickets down. Well done to Oliver Linschoten who top scored with 39* and Jude Boyle (26*). Good contributions also from Louis Madison-Hanlon (22) and Luca Vasic 22. The unbeaten 7th wicket partnership between Oliver and Jude of 60 runs saw us through – www.northerndailyleader.com.au/story/4398573/tamworth-blues-bounce-back-on-day-three-of-u14-carnival/?cs=160

Game 4 (Semi Final) – loss

Going into the Semi as the only undefeated Team we played Hawkesbury DCA. We bowled well to keep them to 7/155 off their 50 overs. Kieran Jackson and Ben Dunkerley were our best, each with 2/16. We struggled with the batting and were dismissed for 52 in 30 overs. Jude Boyle was the only player to get double figures with 11.

Game 5 (Plate Final) – win

Batting first we scored 6/197 against the home side Armidale in 40 overs. Aidan Jackson scored a superb run-a-ball ton to be 100* and Joseph Calusic 31. We then kept Armidale to 8/169 in their 40 overs. Louis Madison-Hanlon with 4/29 at the death with batters swinging was outstanding – www.northerndailyleader.com.au/story/4403197/true-blue-victory/?cs=160 . So 4 wins from 5 games against Regional Rep sides and with a lot of fun along the way has made this a tremendous Carnival – well done.
