Photo of the Month

The new Bistro WPH at the Sports Club is sponsoring us this season for our popular ‘Photo of the Month’ Competition.

Bistro WPH have kindly offered us Dinner vouchers to the value of $50 each Month for the best photo to use in the bistro – here . Every photo goes on the website and a selection of these go into our Annual Yearbook.

To enter it is simple:

  • Just take a photo of anything to do with our Club – Kanga, Girls, Boys and Seniors
  • The photo can be of our players batting, bowling or fielding
  • Also, we are keen to get any ‘quirky’ photos that are a bit of fun.

Our Photo Gallery is a bit like a family photo album so the more variety the better.

Next steps

Just take a photo and send it to Ross Anderson (here) with some brief commentary and it is that easy.

Blowfly Cricket

Congratulations to Bill Peterkin, our Director, Kanga / In2Cricket has been made Vice President of Blowfly Cricket. This is a wonderful initiative for children with disability.

Professional Cricket Coaching opportunity

We have a great Club based Coaching capability that provides professional, paid coaching for our players who have come through our ranks. Our current Coaches (Daniel Anderson, Josh Banner, Danielle Chivers (Girls U17), Daniel Heidegger, Connor Hindmarsh (U15s) , Andy Meikle, Jess Meikle (Girls U17), Bailey Miedler, Tis Mistry and Harrison Norrell) have done an amazing job and will confirm how much fun this has been.

We are now looking to welcoming new folk who want to be involved.

What is involved

Coaches are rostered according to their availability. They look after:

  • Juniors squad coaching each week
  • Schools Clinics in July and early August
  • Our soon to be launched Academy.

Who can be involved

  • Anyone who wants to give professional coaching and can relate with children
  • Typically, our Coaches have come through our Juniors so that they understand our culture and what the Junior competition involves. They are also typically Uni students but we also have U15s and U16s and our Girls U17s. – basically anyone who is a good communicator with a passion for cricket and sharing knowledge.

What is required

Everyone is required to have a Working With Children clearance. Plus we put everyone through a Level 1 Accreditation. Our Head Coach will be put through a Level 2 Accreditation which is a sought after Coaching qualification.

Next steps

If you are interested in this opportunity then drop me a note. We have a few spots available so if we have too many nominations we will work out a solution.
