Discounted use of Indoor nets

Hills indoor sports at Seven Hills has offered our Club a 10% discount on the indoor nets, run up lanes and bowling machines.

They are open 7 days and bookings can be done over the phone or online.

Skills session

The free skills sessions, 1 x session for each team in each Age Division, also starts up soon. Registration is open to all WPH Juniors (Mixed and Girls only). Details are:

  • When – Tuesday’s each week
  • Time: 00 pm to 6.30 pm (arrive please at 4.50 pm)
  • Where: John Purchase Oval
  • Cost: FREE
  • Schedule: the sessions vary for each Age Group – U8 to U12s; Stage 1, 2 & 3 Girls only

Junior Mind Enhancement program

This is a really special initiative to look out for. After a great response last season we will running a follow-up session with Tim Affleck (Sports Psychologist). We will be offering, free of charge 2 programs in November. Details are:

Workshop 1:

  • How to change thinking from negative to positive
  • How to be a leader
  • How to goal-set properly and realistically

Workshop 2

Tailored for parents/coaches to focus on

  • Encouraging positive reinforcement
  • Creating a positive atmosphere within a team

These are special sessions and have tremendous value not just for the cricket development of our junior players and Coaches but also for development of life skills.

New Club Sponsor

Great news to share:

WPH Sports Club

Our great and long-term relationship with the Sports Club continues. Our relationship goes back over 50 years and we are proud to have their name on our playing shirts. Apart from contributing to the new rollout of the new playing shirts they provide exclusive use of the nets, access to meeting rooms and they also put on a regular BBQ for our Cricket Blast families on Saturday’s.

Haven Property & Finance

We have just concluded negotiations with Haven as major playing shirt sponsors and we welcome them to our cricketing family. More info will follow on the services that Haven provides. New website

Development work is proceeding with our new website. Our next review is in mid-June and it will be operational for the start of the 2024/25 season. The website will have a new look, be quicker and have all the latest social media capability integrated into the front-end.

North Shore is conducting trials for U13 & U15. Details below

U15 – Margaret Peden Shield

Tuesday 15 October 2024 at 5.30-8pm at Cricket Central Silverwater (with a second trial on Friday 18 October if needed)

U13 – Mollie Dive Shield

Sunday 20 October 2024 at 2pm-5pm at Koola Park Killara (with a second trial on Sunday 27 October if needed)

Cricket Australia (CA) has released its important Women & Girls Action Plan – Women & Girls Action Plan= have a browse and be informed of the big plans CA has for female cricket.

  • Stage 1 (7 to 11 years of age – no experience necessary) – Friday twilight Girls-only cricket (played in the Hornsby district)

Saturday (NSJCA)

  • Cricket Blast (5 to 7 year olds for boys & girls);
  • Stage 1 (a) – 7 to 11 years of age – new / a bit of experience. Saturday (played at local grounds and in the North Shore area
  • Stage 1(b) – 10 to 11 years. Saturday afternoon home & away hardball
  • Stage 2 & Stage 3 (ages 12 to 17 years of age)Saturday afternoon Girls-only competitive cricket.
