Association News
Ground closures
After a week of wet weather Council (Friday 17 March 2017) has closed the following grounds:
- Parklands Oval – A1 Vs St Ives
- Kenthurst Park – A2 Vs Kenthurst Upper Hills.
This means that A1 progress through to the Grand Final and 3rd placed A2 misses out.
Club Champions
Our Seniors have won the Association Club Championship for the first time since 2008/09. This is a great achievement as the qualification criteria is designed to even the playing field and tends to favour smaller Clubs.
Having missed out last year by 1/1000th of a point, the doctrine of inevitability has shone on those who believe in fate and destiny. Having said that, congratulations also to Normo (2nd) and St Ives Wahroonga (3rd) on their outstanding seasons.

The Umpires Association has asked us to nominate players not qualifying for the Finals for Umpiring duty on the following dates:
- Senior Finals: Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th March
- Junior Finals: Sunday 12th March
Minimum qualification to be appointed is a current Captain’s Ticket. Obviously preference will be given to those holding current Umpires Certification.
All persons appointed to these fixtures will be paid the current umpire rate of $20 – $22 / scheduled hour of play, dependent upon whether one or two umpires are in attendance.

T20 Blast (8 to 12 years)
Our T20 Blast Girls finished for the season and we are looking forward already to the start of the 2017/18 season – stayed tuned in the off-season on more information later this year.
Sixers Girls Cricket League (10 to 17 years)
As the weather has affected so many games, this Round has been rescheduled around the games washed out twice. As the season has been badly interrupted by heat and then rain CNSW has decided against having a Finals series which makes sense due to the disrupted nature of the season.
U13s
WPHC 4/85 lost to Mosman 5/86 – the final game in this 4th Vs 5th match ended in a close one. Our batting struggled with a massive 65 sundries included in our total. Our bowlers though delivered with Caelon Meredith the star with 2/8. Well done also to Matilda Shade and Sienna Shade who both took a wicket in their 2 overs.
U17
WPHC lost to on forfeit Forest Fire – this 4th Vs 1st game didn’t go ahead due to a late illness withdrawal.

WPHC White 2/85 defeated Mercy College 7/45 – in a 2nd Vs 5th game we finished the season with a dominant win. Top score was Lauren Kua with 14 runs. The bowlers though finished the job with a strong performance. Best for us was Amy Sherlock with 3/10 off her 3 overs. Well done also to Ashlie MacPhee who took 2/4 from her 3 overs and Varsha Krithivasan 1/1 and an amazing 1/0 from 3 overs by Lauren Kua. Well done girls.
