A record standing for 74 years is close to being beaten.
Way back in 1951/52, Laurie Tuckerman, our greatest batter scored 7 x centuries playing A1 on his way to a season aggregate of 1,361 runs! By the way, he also took 59 wickets in the same season.
On Saturday, Raynaldo Howard (C1 and filling in for D1 Red) scored 100*, our 562nd century and importantly his 5th ton.

A few insights:
- Raynaldo is just 20 years of age and has already scored 5 tons
- Debuting in 2022/23 this is just his 3rd season of Seniors cricket
- He is the only player in our 95-year history to have scored a century in every format – T20, 1-Day & 2-Day games
- His latest ton included 10 x 6s and 7 x 4’s – 88 runs in boundaries (88% of total runs scored)
- Finally, his 100*was 63.7% of the total Team runs scored. This is the 10th highest % of total runs scored
- Raynaldo also holds the 2nd highest percentage of 77.1% when he scored 131* for C4 Red on 13/1/2024 – see below Anecdote.
Of our current players, there are just 2 other players in the running to reach the 7 tons and then break this record
- Michael Banner (A2 Red) with 6 centuries
- Rick Turner (B1) with 5 tons.
How to track your scores
While on Raynaldo, check out the photo of his bat.
On both edges, he records all his big scores as a permanent record of his batting achievements.
Despite having played just 3 Seasons of Seniors both edges are now just about full so it looks like the back of the bat is about to come into use.

The Team that ‘loves’ being in the field
Got to hand it to B1 (Prats).
Since Day 2 of Round 3 (18 October – 41 days) the boys have shown that they just love being out in the field and bowling.
To quote Dean from B1:
“Lastly to us – B1 and its continuous love of bowling…. Across the past 6 weeks of cricket we’ve batted just 41.4 overs compared to 218.4 overs of bowling and questionable fielding – Any chance of a stick Prats”
Domination – part 1
On the weekend Rishab Iyer hammered 113 out of a Team total of 8/177 as at the close of Day 1 playing at Caddies Creek. Included in this was 17 boundaries. This was 63.8% of the total runs scored.
For info, the top 5 scores as a % of total runs scored at an innings completion / match conclusion are:
- Wally Howard (B1) Vs Perseverance @ Campbell Park – Grand Final in 1967/68. We were all out for 4 and Wally Howard scored the only scoring shot – a boundary. This is 100% of the total score!
- Raynaldo Howard (C4 Red @ Fred Caterson 4 on 13/1/2024) scored 131* of the Team total of 7/170 after 35 overs – 77.1% of the total score
- Glenn O’Connor (C3 Blue @ Campbell Park on 31/10/2020). In a team total of 191 Glenn belted 145. This included 25 fours, 1 six – 75.9% of the team total
- Daniel Anderson (13 years, 7 months and 12 days) at Holland Road Oval on 20th December 2008, playing for D2 Vs Kenthurst scored 81* out of an innings team total of 112 (72.3% of the total score).
- Steve Rochow (A2 Vs St Ives @ Turramurra Oval) scored 38* of our winning Team total of 0/55 – 69% of the Team total runs

Domination – part 2
Also last weekend, Kristian Erdmanis (C3 Red) and one of our Juniors scored his maiden ton – 103 runs out of a Team total of 207 runs (49.7%) at Montview Oval West. If Extras (34) are excluded this increases to 59.5% of total runs scored off the bat.
To put this in context, the next best score off the bat was 25 and there were 5 Ducks!
While this is outside our top 5 contributions to total runs scored what makes this special is that Kristian is still a Junior player and his performance compared to every other player, on the day, is elite.
Well done Kristian.
