Quiet Achievers
While we give lots of coverage to our elite players who are setting personal milestones and new Club and Association records there are also a number of ‘quiet achievers’ who keep doing amazing things without much fanfare. For starters, how about these achievements:
Brahadesh ‘Ram’ Ramamurthy & Praneel Singh
Ram (C1) has the equal 2nd best bowling economy rate across all Grades with an economy rate of 2.4 runs / over from 621 overs.
Our best economy rate is 2.1 / over from Gavan Hassett (1996/97 to 2008/09) in B & C Grades.
Praneel (C2 Blue) is number 9 on our all-time list with an economy rate of 2.6 runs / overs from 615 overs.

Ravi Gunna & Jack Hando
Ravi (C4 Red Captain) has the 6th best bowling average in our history (players who have taken 100 wickets or more) with an average of 12.3 runs / wicket.
Also, Jack Hando (A1) has taken 126 wickets at an economy rate of 12.4 runs / wicket – the 7th best in our History.
The best bowling average in our History is 10.1 / wicket by Gavan Hassett.

James Makin & Peter Lees
James (A1) has taken the 4th most dismissals by a non-keeper in our History with 166 catches and Peter Lees (D1 Blue) is number 6 on the all-time list with 146 catches.

1st Team to 100 Competition points
Congratulations to our D1 Blue (Roger) side that won the D1 Grade Minor Premiership and in the process ticked over 100 competition points – finishing on 105 points.
Helping our cause was that this is the first season the Competition was run exclusively as a one-day competition.
The boys played 21 games won 15 and lost 3.
Well done to the boys on this great achievement – now to focus on getting through to the GF.

Sheep Station Trophy – Grand Final
Since starting in A2 on 16/12/2017 the Seniors have played in their official ‘Sheep Station Trophy’ games. This weekend our first Seniors Semi Final was played in the C4 game between the Blues (Rob) and Red (Ravi).
After the weekend results we have our first-ever Seniors Sheep Station Trophy Grand Final with the B1 game between the Reds (Todd) and Blues (Prats). More on this next week.
While the Seniors have a Sheep Station Trophy game in some Grades, in Juniors it is more common with a lot more Teams and fewer Grades.
This Sunday we have another instalment of a Grand Final version of the Sheep Station Trophy when our U14 Purple (1st) plays our Gold (2nd) side at Greenway Park starting at 10.00 am.
As background, previous Sheep Station Grand Finals have been played:
- U11s – 2 times
- U12s – 3
- U13s – 2
- U14s – 1
- U15s – 3
- U16s – Nil
