Edward Bennett Oval
Story
One of our Kanga’s was talking to Dominic Thornely, NSW Blues and Australia ‘A’ star and our Club Ambassador, (November 2004) about the Australian First Class record 11 sixers he hit the day before at the SCG during his innings of 261*.
During Dom’s visit at Edward Bennett Oval the day after this achievement, he came down to Kanga and picked up with every team, signed autographs and had pictures taken. He also brought along the ‘Beast’ the Gunn & Moore bat he used for the 261*. A highlight was a comment from one of our Kanga’s to Dom. He thought Dom’s effort in scoring 261* was ‘cool’ but was underwhelmed by the 11 sixers: “I got 12 sixers off dad in the backyard the week before!”
