WPHC Red 269 Vs Hornsby – we arrived at Greenup Park unsure of what state the ground would be in. The lighter rain in Castle Hill had left the pitch in a playable condition. The coin landed our way and we chose to bat.

The innings got off to a tough start, losing 2 quick wickets in the 4th over. Ian Paterson (34) shrugged off the conditions and took it to the Opposition. Patto found the boundary with ease, including a six that nearly landed on top of his own car! When Patto was dismissed we were 5/60 and in danger of being rolled cheaply.

Sandeep Darapuneni (20) and Brent Larkham started to build an important partnership Sandeep was unlucky to be out stumped by a ricochet off the keepers pads. Matt Digby (22) joined Brent at the crease, and the pair made a great 56 run partnership.

Brent’s next partnership was worth 73, with Naps scoring just 3 of those runs! Brent brought up his 50 in 29 overs, but his 2nd 50 took just 6 overs! He was eventually dismissed for 115 and left us with a total we can defend! Brent’s ton was his first and it was all class. It was also our 460th ton. The 10th wicket partnership between Rob and Brent of 73 is also a Club C2 record.
