This weekend, Saturday (14/3) & Sunday (15/3) we have some big Grand Finals being played. Details are:
Seniors
Played on Saturday (14/3) & Sunday (15/3).
- B1 – WPHC Red (Todd – 2nd) Vs WPHC Blue (Prats – 4th) @ Parklands Oval (turf) starting at noon. This is our first-ever Sheep Station Trophy Grand Final for a main Competition match!
- C1 – WPHC (Aniket – 2nd) Vs Berowra (1st) @ Warrina Street Oval starting at noon
- C4 – WPHC Red (Ravi – 3rd) Vs Hornsby (1st) @ Montview Oval East – starting at noon
- D1 – WPHC Blue (Roger – 1st ) Vs Hornsby (3rd) @ Campbell Park starting at noon. Note: this is a 1-Day game played on Saturday only.

Junior (Mixed & Girls) Presentation Day and Pink Stumps
We are celebrating and recognising all the wonderful efforts from both our players and great volunteers as well as coming together as a club to support the McGrath Foundation.
Pink Stumps Day helps raise funds for McGrath Cancer Care Nurses, who provide free support to people and families experiencing cancer across Australia.

Latest NSWPSSA Representative
Congratulations to our latest NSWPSSA – Veer Tangri. Veer plays for our U14 Gold side. Veer played Blast with us from a 5-year-old and Captained the Combined Independent Schools (CIS) side.
What makes this extra special is that Veer has also a founder of goldenwickets.org that is a charity dedicated to collecting and distributing used sporting equipment to children in need.
His efforts have resulted in him receiving recognition from the NSW Parliament and a Channel 9 News item.
Well done Veer and good luck in the Nationals later in 2026.

Association
Centenary Yearbook
As part of the Association Centenary celebrations, the Association is publishing a book of records across our 100 seasons – see below.
Prior to the print run, we are seeking expressions of interest for orders to control costs.
Purchase price will be $15 per book plus any delivery costs. Orders through clubs will be distributed to clubs at the next in person meeting after the print run.
There are also copies available of Summer Saturdays 25 Years On, a history of the association for $20 + delivery.
If anyone is interested in a getting a copy then please let Ross Anderson know
Representative Trials
Registrations are now Closed for the Association’s 2026/27 Junior Representative teams.

Association Team for 2000/01 to 2025/25
On Thursday night (19/2) the Association had it its Centenary celebration. One of the highlights was the announcement of the Team of the Millennium – 2000/01 to 2025/26.
West Penno had 2 players selected in this Team in a wonderful recognition of their stellar achievements. The players are:
Matt Barr (A1 1990/91 to 2004/05)
- Matt opened the batting and scored 4,406 runs @ 39.7 including one season (1997/98) where he scored 780 runs @ 60
- In 1997/98 Matt also won our Player of the Year
- In 1999/2000 he scored 405 runs @ 101.3 – still an Association record season average
- Matt was also an opening bowler and took 111 wickets @ 21.2
Sol Tomlinson (A1 – 2011/12 to 2016/17)
- Sol opened the batting and scored 1,917 runs @ 28.6 with a high score of 111*
- He was also a left-arm slow bowler taking 158 wickets at 10.7. In 2014/15 he took 29 wickets @ 7.2 which is the current Club A1 record
- Sol won our Player of the Year Award in 2011/12 & also 2012/13
- Finally. Sol played in all 4 consecutive Premiership wins between 2011/12 & 2014/15
Well done boys on this great achievement.


Registrations – 2026
BLAST (4 to 6 years)
Our pre-Christmas Blast program (4 to 6 years) comes to an end on Saturday 13th December. This season has been a great success with 100 boys and girls playing every Tuesday / Saturday.
Every game is an Event. There is Music, BBQ’s and lots of different activities with games going for just 1-hour.
We are now taking Registrations for Term 1 2026 that starts on Saturday 31st March with a weekly Tuesday playing option.
