Club News

Frogbox is here

Prime Video and Frogbox provide a free streaming Kit to allow us to bring live and Free TV coverage via YouTube. We are going to start our use of Frogbox with the Girls Stage 2 Cricket Team and then rolling this into Stage 3 next season.

We are one of only 50 Clubs, Australia wide to be given the opportunity by Amazon.

This technology allows us to: 

  • Stream matches live, connecting players with family and supporters 
  • Build community engagement through shareable highlights and memorable moments 
  • Create visible role models to inspire young female cricketers 
  • Enable performance analysis and player development

The aim is to use this technology to:

  • Celebrate female cricket achievements 
  • Strengthen family and community connections 
  • Inspire the next generation 
  • Enhance player development through match review

So, before the end of the season our Girls will be streamed live on TV.

Girls ‘Festival of Cricket’

Our Annual ‘Girls Festival of Cricket’ is on against this season. This is a great initiative where our 6 x Girls Teams play at Greenway Park / John Purchase Ovals on Saturday 15th February.

This is a celebration of Girls cricket across our District and is also a major fund-raiser to support the McGrath Foundation ‘Pink Stumps’ initiative.

This is a special day with lots of pink, cakes and raffles and high energy with games all played in fantastic spirit.

Details are:

  • When: 15th February
  • Games:
    • Stage 1 softball teams will play their matches as usual on Friday
    • Stage 1 hardball team will play at JP oval at their usual time
    • Two of the Stage 2 teams will verse each other at JP oval on the usual time
    • Third Stage 2 team will play nearby (most probably at James Henty oval)

Blast Initiatives

Blast return to School (2025) registrations

  • What is being offered:
    • Blast (boys & girls) aged 5 & 6 years with games available on both Saturday morning and Tuesday Twilight all at Edward Bennett Oval
    • All-Girls Blast (girls only aged 5 to 9 years) played Friday twilight at Thornleigh Oval
  • Cost:
    • Registration fee is just $50.00 (the full-season fee is $130)
    • If you also introduce a friend to play we will refund you the $50.00 so your child gets to play for free
  • When: Term 1 2025 (8 weeks)

Greenway Park building upgrade

Work is continuing on the upgrade to the ground floor section of the Community Centre. Work is 95% complete and is expected to be completed by April 2025. The remaining 5% covers mainly fixtures & fittings (e.g.; toilet roll holders, installation of shelving & paining touch-ups)

Works have also commenced on the external works that includes new concrete stairs.

Sydney Cricket Ground – Exclusive offer

A visit to the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) is a highly sought-after experience for cricket enthusiasts of all ages.

The SCG has extended an invitation for our Club Members for a private tour, where your members will have the unique opportunity to walk on the hallowed turf, sit in the locker of their favourite players, and explore the SCG Museum. Furthermore, there is access to the indoor cricket nets, where international teams practice.

Our Club members have an exclusive rate of $19 per person for private group tour bookings.

Additionally, you can enhance your experience by including one hour of access to our indoor cricket nets (inclusive of tour) for just $25 per person. This offer is valid until April 30, 2025.

  • Stage 1(b) – 10 to 11 years. Saturday afternoon home & away hardball
  • Stage 2 & Stage 3 (ages 12 to 17 years of age)Saturday afternoon Girls-only competitive cricket.
