CNSW Opportunity

Following the dissolution of the District Cricket Association (DCA), CNSW is setting up an Advisory ‘Metro Cricket Council’.

CNSW are keen to see this Council as being a high powered, diverse group of people who have a mindset:

“…where there is a problem we need people who can see this as an opportunity and offer solutions. Where there is a barrier, work through what can be done rather than on what can’t be done”.

If you would like to be involved in this type of Advisory Committee then please feel free to discuss this with Daniel Anderson, Head of Clubs & Competitions – Metro at Daniel Anderson or Martin Gleeson (Chief Community Cricket Officer).

Congratulations also, not just for making / winning the Grand Finals but for the way the games were played and from the fantastic and gracious support from our parents and supporters. A comment from the U13 Umpire and Association Life Member (Gavin) says it all:

“I had a great day again, it was an absolute pleasure and you should be proud of how the team conducted themselves, clearly influenced by excellent coaching.

It is so nice to see the young players enjoying the game and doing so in the right way. They were so polite and there are some outstanding players.

Many of them would already hold their own in D Grade.”

Congratulations and well done!

Welcome to our new Head Coach

Our Head Coach, Connor Hindmarch is pursuing a number of great opportunities in both study (Master of Education) and bigger coaching roles. Connor has done an outstanding job over the last 2 years and as one of our Coaching team before that. Well done Connor.

Congratulations to our new Head Coach, Ben Burrows, who, like Connor, has progressed through our Coaching ranks to take on this important role.

Our Head Coach runs our important Schools Clinics, the Academy and the Skills sessions for our younger players (147 children last season). The riole also works closely with the Association and CNSW and is one of our ‘critical’ roles.

Welcome Ben and thanks Connor for your wonderful legacy.

PSSA Representatives

The Primary Schools Sports Association (PSSA) is the elite State Competition for all Primary Schools in NSW – Public, Private and Independent School). Last week the tournament was held at Maitland and we had an amazing 4 players from our U13s competing:

Congratulations to our young champions who play for our U13’s:

🏏 Aaryaveer Tangri (U13 Orange) – NSW CIS
🏏 Ishaan Sharma (U13 Gold) – NSW Sydney North

🏏 Sachin Narayanan (U13 Purple) – NSW Sydney North

To quote Raji Pawar:

“The boys had an incredible tournament, but the standout moment? Ishaan’s insane 6/14 in the quarter-final! 🎯👏

The grand final was an epic showdown between CIS and Sydney North, with CIS taking home the win! 🏆”

Well done boys, you have done us proud.

Campbell Park Upgrade

Now that the Greenway Park Community Centre is up and running the focus has now moved to upgrading Campbell Park. There is a $2.5m proposal that Julian Leeser (our Local member spoke to in Parliament during the week.

The funding proposal involves significant upgrades to the playing surface and lighting + much improved facilities along the lines of a ‘mini Greenway Park Community Centre’.

Check out the mention we got in Federal Parliament by our federal member – Julian Leeser – WPHC Facebook

Clothing update – next stage

Work is well underway on developing a new Training shirt now that the transition to our new playing shirts is complete. This will be ready for the start of the new season.

We are also developing Club training shorts and these will also be ready for the start of next season.

More info will be available on both of these initiatives as we get closer to the new season start.

Club Survey

Every 2 / 3 years we run a Club-wide survey to identify what we do well and what we can improve on. This is an important input into our next stage Club Strategy. It CLOSES next week after the Juniors Presentation Day.

A Survey link has been sent by email to all players / families:

  • Blast
  • Juniors Mixed (Boys & Girls)
  • Junior Girls
  • Seniors (All Age)

The Surveys are anonymous and take around 3 minutes to complete. Once you get the link it would be appreciated if you could take just 3 minutes to provide your input into this important initiative.
