Play Like a Girl initiative – ‘Unmute Yourself’
Cricket Australia is continuing its great ‘Play Like a Girl’ initiative and have advised:
“Ever had the perfect thing to say in a meeting, at training or around the club, and then kept it to yourself? You’re not alone. Next Wednesday, we’re doing something about it, and we’d love you in the room.
Communication expert Annelise McCarthy is joining us for Unmute Yourself, a live, 90-minute virtual masterclass on closing the gap between what you want to say and what actually comes out. It’s part of PLAG PRO, our free membership for women and girls in sport.”
What to expect
This isn’t about building confidence from scratch. It’s about reconnecting capable women with the confidence they already have, and giving you a practical toolkit to use straight away.
- Why you’re not actually “bad at speaking”, and what’s really getting in the way
- How to get your thoughts out clearly when it counts, from team meetings to interviews
- Tools you can use the very next time you’re about to stay on mute

WPH Sports Club co-branded digital Membership card
It is almost here.
The WPH Sports Club, our ‘home’ away from the playing field, is about to launch a new co-branded digital membership card. This is a pilot initiative involving just WPHC members until it is rolled out more broadly across all Sports Club members.

The key point is that the Sports Club will support us through sponsorship based on how strongly our members support the Sports Club. This creates a genuine two‑way partnership.

The new co-branded card offers many benefits:
- 20% discounts across bar, restaurant & café
- $20k badge draw access
- $10 in bonus points to spend in the Club for every member who downloads their new digital card.
Our expectation is that everyone over 18 who is a registered WPHC player or family member of a player signs-up to be a Sports Club member.
Next steps
We are about 2-weeks away from launch so keep a lookout for more information and be part of something new and exciting.

Website page updates
James Makin, our Seniors Director has worked his magic and updated the website to bring to life our major Seniors statistical records.
Our Club records are second to none and go back to 1946/47.
The records cover Seniors only due to the long history of patching together manual records that, pre PlayHQ, were kept on paper records held by Team Managers. For Juniors and Girls, statistics simply aren’t available, so it’s not possible to aggregate similar historical Leader boards.
However, our ‘Awards & Records’ (in the Club History menu) does have details of the limited records that have been sourced through manual effort over many years.
With the latest enhancements we now have:
- On the Home page a great visual of the Season’s best achievements and also personal milestone tracking
- There is also a new tab in our Club history ‘Statistics Hub – Seniors’ – Statistics Hub – Seniors. This is a great, easy to source data base that is worth playing around with.
The data is updated after every round.
